Zabuton (noun); a large, flat cushion, used in Japan for sitting or kneeling on the floor
Zabu is meant to inspire comfort, community and conversation through an ancient (and modern) Japanese tradition of sitting on floor cushions - while eating a meal, playing a board game, or simply enjoying the company of family or friends
The Zabuton was a part of our childhood tradition and we hope to share that tradition with others.

why buckwheat?
Our Zabu’s are filled with buckwheat hulls for a few reasons.
Sitting on the floor and in general, posture is key. Buckwheat molds to your body and provides lumbar and spine support - giving you the ideal base for good posture
Buckwheat is also pest resistant - meaning mites and small bugs are not interested. Buckwheat does not retain moisture or scent so will not erode or pick up the scent of your environment over time.
The buckwheat is also what gives our Zabu’s their flat and stackable appearance and ability. Because of its molding ability, you could stack as many Zabu’s as you like!
We recommend stacking 2 - 4 for a modern feel, or up to 10 for a fun presentation in your living room.
